After Makassar, we spent the holidays in Toraja. Even though weˇve visited Toraja together several times, weˇre still far from done exploring. About 57 km from Rantepao, the capital of North Toraja, lies Ollon, a place that truly makes you feel like youˇve stepped into the Swiss Alps.

There are two ways to get there: by jeep or by motorbike. We decided to do it ourselves and rode up into the mountains by motorbike. The road is a bit bumpy and challenging, but youˇre constantly entertained by beautiful views and local villages. And once you reach the mountains, itˇs absolutely worth it.

The trip took us around 3 hours each way. We did it during the day, but itˇs more recommended to go early in the morning, it was quite hot, and we got a lot of rain on the way back. If you want to make the trip even more adventurous, itˇs also possible to camp overnight in the mountains.
